Carrie Prejean: My Miss California Firing Was “A Set Up”

You know, when I heard that Sarah Palin had called Carrie Prejean last month to lend her support after she came in second in the Miss America pageant, I had no idea that the Governor had signed on to become her mentor. It is obvious to everyone that Miss Prejean is taking a page out of Sarah’s playbook this time.

Former Miss California USA Carrie Prejean says she lost her crown because of a comment she made about gay marriage and not because she had been skipping appearances.

Prejean told Matt Lauer on NBC’S “Today” show Friday that she “absolutely” had been dethroned because of the comment, when she said marriage should be between a man and a woman.

Prejean lost her title Wednesday after the California pageant’s executive director said Prejean was skipping Miss California USA events while speaking out against gay marriage at unsanctioned appearances.

Prejean denied that and calls her firing a set up. She says “tolerance needs to be a two-way street.”

Can’t you just hear the conversation between these two?

SP: Carrie, it’s simple. Just blame the media. Or the liberals. Or the bloggers.
CP: Are you sure that will work?
SP: Of course it will. I’ve been doing it for months.
CP: What about the naked pictures?
SP: Blame the photographer. Or the wind.

Here’s a follow-up quote that struck me as being very Sarah-like:

Carrie Prejean: “I know that when God is for you, no one can be against you. So thank you.

Larry King: Can you tell us what you’re going to do, though?

Prejean: I’m not sure. Definitely some — a lot of offers — opportunities have come my way, a lot of offers.

I’m just really excited. I feel relieved. I feel just so blessed and so honored to have represented the state of California. And I’m ready to move on with my life and just be where God leads me. “

Around my house, a person who constantly crave the spotlight, whether they are a celebrity or one of our coworkers, is called an attention whore. These are people who cannot get enough attention and will pimp themselves out at any moment just to remain on camera. They love to hear themselves talk and don’t even seem to care what they are talking about. In fact, they don’t even seem to be paying attention to the drivel that’s coming out of their mouths.

So far, I’ve identified several people who fall into this category. They are Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Michelle Bachmann and Sarah Palin.

Sarah went on The Today Show today to fire back at Dave Letterman for his jokes about her daughter. I’d post the video here, but it’s pretty much everywhere, so I’ll just link to it here.

So, there you go. These loudmouths are competing for the attention of the American people. And as long as they continue to act stupidly and say stupid things, they’ll get it. What does this say about our country, when the loudest mouth gets the most airtime? Walk away, America. Walk away.
