Hello all!

Welcome to CineMonday! Favorites Edition. I was so busy this weekend with the Obama rally and a family dinner that I didn’t have time to watch one of my Netflix movies. I’ve decided to review one of my favorite movies, Jeffrey.

Movie: Jeffrey
Year: 1995
Starring: Steven Weber, Patrick Stewart and Sigourney Weaver
Genre: Comedy
Rated: R
Runtime: 92 minutes
Stars: Four and a half out of five
Times I’ve seen this movie: about 10

Jeffrey is a gay man living in New York City in the mid-nineties. He has decided to give up on love (and sex) because of AIDS. Unfortunately (so to speak), Jeffrey meets and falls head over heels for Steve, a fine specimen of the male species. Jeffrey does his best to stay away from Steve, even though his heart is pulling him closer and closer to finding the love of his life.

My favorite character in Jeffrey is Sterling, played by Patrick Stewart. It’s a must-see if you love Stewart and have seen his work in other genres (its a far cry from Captain Picard on the Starship Enterprise).

This movie is certainly not for everyone. Trust me, you won’t want to watch it with your parents. Okay, you wouldn’t want to watch it with my parents. It’s fun but also has a serious side that is very real and touching.

I hope you like it as much as I do.

Enjoy!
