This week Cheryl Metiva, Wasilla Chamber of Commerce executive director, resigned from her post. This would not normally be big news, but she decided to “Pull a Palin.”
According to the Urban Dictionary, “Pullin’ a Palin (definition #1)” means,
“1. Quitting when the going gets tough; abandoning the responsibility entrusted to you by your neighbors for book advances and to make money on the lecture circuit.
2. Bizarre move that will damn ambitions for higher office.
[example:] I bet when people saw Jade they were convinced that David Caruso was pullin’ a Palin. “
These definitions do not necessarily describe what I feel is a more appropriate definition:
1. Quitting without offering a plausible explanation.
2. Blaming the media for your actions.
Ms. Metiva was apparently inspired by her mentor and quit her post. She practically stole $arah’s speech when she gave her reason for resigning. According to KTUU.com, “In a letter to the current board of directors, Metiva noted she cannot perform her duties as executive director because of assumptions and allegations covered by the media.“
Cheryl Metiva has recently been accused of using the Chamber’s credit card to purchase items such as trips to Hawaii and visits to a day spa. The Board took away her credit card and required that she get the signature of at least two Board members when spending money. In May, there was a complete turnover (save one) of the Chamber’s board members after six of the seven members quit.
Sounds like things are just as dysfunctional in the Wasilla Chamber of Commerce as they are in the Governor’s office.

And the big question is: Does Cheryl Metiva go to Sarah Palin’s church? I’m curious to know how many of these political boneheads go to the same church.
I don’t know for sure, but I’d be willing to bet that she does. I found this quote in several different places: “We like to call this the Bible Belt of Alaska,” says Cheryl Metiva, head of the local chamber of commerce. Churches proliferate in Wasilla today, and among the largest and most influential is the Wasilla Bible Church, where the Palins worship.

Regina at Palingates did an excellent article on Cheryl & her idol Sarah in May when the story first broke.
See: http://palingates.blogspot.com/2009/05/sarah-palins-valley-friends.html
You can be almost certain that where corruption rears its ugly head, Sarah is somewhere in the background (or front ground LOL). This is just another example.
